You should see his full range of steps  Arabesque • Plies • Attitude • Battement Tendu • Pointe Work – nothing is too difficult for him.

His appearance in a tutu however is not so elegant

It is clear that dependencies are just that, the example below proves this.  It must be exceedingly difficult for politicians to take over and be responsible for large organisations that are not working well.

Which normal person would want the mess that the Minister for Health Anne Pryke has inherited? Furthermore the new politicians have also stepped into the breach trying to stop the wasteful spending that has gone on for decades, while at the same time convincing the more established politicians ( some say the old school ) to cut and supply in the right places.

Jersey like it or not is being dragged screaming into the new world financial order. Will it be the people of Jersey screaming with dismay at the endless grab at their shrinking disposable income?

The figures show that per head of population Jersey has one of the highest incomes in Europe. This is not the full story, lets split that up into three sectors. Public, Finance, and then the rest of us. Public sector now running at over £301, million this is truly the big problem. This also distorts the general per head of pop. earnings figure. Which private business can afford to pay the money and perks offered by the States ?

The alternative is to look very seriously as to how expensive the administration and so called, gold plated second rate services have become, complete with pet consultants and spin doctors, nice but not needed football coaches and job duplication at management level through out the States empire.

True backbone and leadership is needed, while Jersey still has some money in the bank, it will be far to late in a few years time if a policy of trying to tax the people to fill the coffers, will without doubt make this a desolate island maybe a Monte Carlo for the rich only ?

Will Jersey become independent ? Only if the UK Government allow it to be so.!

Quotes are selective please read the full informative article, link below.

"We have much to do and public expectations are high... People need to feel safe from crime and we need to clean up public life and start to develop a fairer, more open society," he said.

Allegations of corruption in land sales, distribution of government contracts, the granting of voting rights and misuse of public funds led to the launch of an inquiry in July 2008.

A financial regulator in the territory said the suspension of the government would not affect the operation of its offshore finance sector, which has about 16,000 companies
registered, including many specialising in warranty insurance.

"There is no change in the status of the regulatory body or in the day-to-day running of the finance sector," Kevin Higgins, managing director of the Turks and Caicos Finance Services Commission, told Reuters news agency.
He said the Turks and Caicos offshore finance sector had "not been in any way tarnished" by the corruption inquiry, saying this had focused more on tourism and real estate activities.

Just what would Independence mean for Jersey?
Scrapping all the old laws with which this island is governed, meaning only the rich could stand a chance of getting into the States by means of throwing money at it?
One really needs to look at this very very carefully indeed!
What is the advantage in going independent or what is the down side of the status quo? ( no funny remarks please ).
Could we say sod the EU?
Could we be able to do what we like with banking like Switzerland?
Could we deport people? ( we use to ).
Pray please tell me what you think.

Do you mean yourself or all contributors to this site?

nice post boat boy.
i would like to say regarding "english lessons" that i do not care wheather a post is grammaticaly correct or the wording correctly spelt , what i think maters is that we as a collective are passing good information and talking about matters that affect us all.

my grammer is poor, i know, and my spelling at times poor, the wife tells me i am dyslexic.
this has never affected my working life , or social life for that matter.

chevalier, i am not in finance but think even switzerland  have had to open some books , so we would have to toe the line somewhere.
maybe  we may here from someone who would have  a idea where finace would be in a independant jersey . as we have little else to earn a crust.

And Bretons came from Britain, so suck that!

Gordon Brown:         [horn] Hallo! [pause] Hallo!
Chevalier Blanc:       Allo! Who is eet?
Gordon Brown:         It is Gordon Brown, and these are the posters of Planet Jersey. Whose castle is this?
Chevalier Blanc:       This is the castle of my master, St Syvret of the feeble minded.
Gordon Brown:         Go and tell your master that we have been charged by taxpayers with a sacred quest. If he will give us food and shelter for the night, he can join us in our quest for evidence to legal cases.
Chevalier Blanc:       Well, I'll ask him, but I don't think he'll be very keen. Uh, he's already got evidence, you see.
Gordon Brown:         What?
Spartacus:              He says they've already got evidence!
Gordon Brown:         Are you sure he's got real evidence and not just hearsay?
Chevalier Blanc:       Oh, yes. It's very nice-a. (I told him we already have evidence.)
Syvret Bloggers:      [chuckling]
Gordon Brown:         Well, u-- um, can we come up and have a look at this irrefutable evidence?
Chevalier Blanc:       Of course not! You are Jersey types-a!
Gordon Brown          Well, what are you, then?
Chevalier Blanc:       I'm French! Why do think I have this outrageous accent, you silly Gordon Brown-a?!
Spartacus:              What are you doing in Jersey?
Chevalier Blanc :      Mind your own business!
Gordon Brown:         If you will not show us that you have evidence, we shall take your castle by force!
Chevalier Blanc:       You don't frighten us, Jersey pig-dogs! Go and boil your bottom, sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called Brown Gordon, you and all your silly Jersey k-nnnnniggets. Thpppppt! Thppt! Thppt!
Spartacus:              What a strange person.
Gordon Brown:         Now look here, my good man--
Chevalier Blanc:       I don't wanna talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!
Spartacus:              Is there someone else up there we could talk to?
Chevalier Blanc:       No. Now, go away, or I shall taunt you a second time-a! [trail-off]

*any resemblence to names ficticious or real is purely coincidental [snigger]
lets not forget the real thing though. this reads a bit better once you have seen it.
