You are right Calimachon and i think the reason is that there are so many different nationalities in Jersey now that they seem to keep together in there own people. Also there are not so many Jersey people in the Island now. Money seems to be the only thing that ties groups together these days.
I have no doubt that in the country parishes the old ways are still there to been seen but within the more populated areas the look after factor does not seem to be there but keep to themselves.
They say "The good old days" and i think they mean when people looked after each other and not the long hours of work with little pay.
With social handouts in these days people do not need to lean on other people for food etc.
