I still don't belive that the RPI can only be 3.2%

You only have to look at the amount most things have gone up in the past 3 months let alone the past 12 months

These RPI figures are utter rubbish.

Using the rates of inflation from their report, a little bit of basic maths, and using general parameters, Senator Ozouf, this is, approximately, the RPI figures for a family of 4, earning GBP25,000 per annum, renting (obviously) for the year ended March 2008.

Housing Rental   7500 at 4%  = 300

Utilities             2500 at 14% = 350

Food and Drink   8750 at 9%  = 787.50

Other               3750 at 2%  = 75

Total increase = GBP1612.50

Inflation rate  =  over 6%.

Annual rate of increase given to Pensioners and Low Earners  = 2.9%.

And GST to come.

We've underestimated our states members - they really do know how to make money after all!

Everybody I talk to says the same thing "it is getting just too expensive".

Maybe the GST will be the straw to force people to leave?

I cannot see many people wanting to come here.

I have enjoyed reading your words discussion is good. many people do not understand that quality of life is about having friends, happiness, and having some confidence in the government. Also bills have to be paid.
There is a massive imbalance on Jersey,  quality of life for most is now threatened. I truly hope that this site can become a powerhouse of communication and real force for change. God knows its needed.

Goodnight.
