A bit more info from the JEP, Senator Shenton has withdrawn his nomination from the Council of Ministers at the last minute, saying that he cannot work with Chief Minister-designate Terry Le Sueur’s chosen line-up

I think Senator Ozouf was always going to be the assistant Chief Minister as it was probably agreed that he wouldn't stand against TLS for the Chief Ministers job.

Maybe he sees problems looming out of the fog?

It wouldn't surprise me, but I don't think it looks very good when you don't want to hear some ones views and ideas. So much for him stating in his speech about listening to other members.

All we can hope is other States members are truly committed to bring about a more open and accountable government and back other people for some of the positions.

We'll know after tomorrows sitting if some of the recently elected and re-elected members have what it takes or will it be a case of a few of them keeping quiet in the hope of a assistant ministers position.

The list:

Treasury & Resources - Senator Philip Ozouf
Economic Development - Senator Alan Maclean

Planning & Environment - Senator Freddie Cohen
Health & Social Services - Senator Paul Routier
Home Affairs - Senator Bryan Ian Le Marquand
Social Security - Deputy Ian Gorst (St Clement)
Transport & Technical Services - Constable Mike Jackson (St Brelade)
Education, Sport & Culture - Deputy James Reed (St Ouen)
Housing - Senator Terry Le Main

The top 2 were a foregone conclusion months ago. Nice little arrangement they have there.
