TERRY IS STILL FAVOURITE FOR CHIEF MINISTER

Terry le Sueur's still the favourite among Chamber of Commerce members to be Jersey's next Chief Minister.

Their latest government survey shows he's got the most support to take over from Frank Walker.

29% of members who responded think Senator Le Sueur should take the top job in local politics.

That's up 8% on when the same question was asked in June.

But only a fifth of chamber members responded to the questionnaire - about a hundred businesses in total.

And 22% still say they don't know or that there's no suitable candidiate.

It's not exactly a overwhelming vote of confidence for him.

If my Maths is correct that means 29 out of 500 possible voters were for him.  Sounds about right.

Hey JTM what's a candidiate? Is it one that's frank about stuff?? Or just Candid??
Either way the sooner Dick Turpin gets knobbled from holding the golden chalice the happier I will be.

Of course it is, because 29% features the digit 9, which is as big as a decimal digit can be.  ;D

The one thing that stood out at the St Brelade hustings for me, is that virtually every single "new" candidate proposed that the CM should be appointed by island mandate. We can only hope that six of these are elected and that if Toad of Toad Hall is appointed CM, his tenure is kept very short.
You can't get good chinese takeout in China and cuban cigars are rationed in Cuba. That's all you need to know about communism
