The Guy de Faye Monument
« on: August 20, 2010, 02:31:33 AM »
How much did it cost to have Guy de Faye memorialised in stone as the Minister of TTS when the sea wall was repairs - it's there, with the date, all engraved in a piece of granite in the sea wall.

Was this a stupid States idea?

It's even worse than his idea that utility companies can just dig up people's gardens whenever they want to put pipes or cables in to any adjoining properties? That was a double mistake: (1) he did it without any consultation (2) it would have involved a property developer and utility company digging across former Senator Bernard Binnington's garden - not a smart move!

Or deciding on plans for revamping the road at the end of Victoria Avenue, and only consulting with the emergency services after it had been done (and when they couldn't get through)?

Quite a legacy, our Guy, which is not surprising for the man who peppered Puffin with a shot-gun, live on air, when children were watching! (Yes it's true, a presenter at the time confirmed it to me!)
