Senator Averty's Cost-Cutting idea
« on: August 09, 2010, 02:23:39 AM »
Since this is the place for States stupid ideas, long ago when Senator Averty was in  the States, he hit upon a wonderful cost cutting exercise.

1 Close the registry office.
2 Double up the crematorium for use as a venue for weddings.

I'm not kidding - this was really suggested, but for some reason, only appeared in the JEP as his suggestion. It never made it to the States as a proposition.

I wonder why....

The same Senator who was found bound to a chair when the contents of the Tropicana safe were stolen?
I think you are being very rude to a man who was a hero , who had to tolerate all of that suffering and even worse , be an editor for the JEP for a number of years .
Have you no shame ? Has he not suffered enough?
