Former Jersey College for Girls proposed sale P.30/2007

THE STATES commenced consideration of the proposition of Deputy Robert Charles Duhamel of St. Saviour concerning the proposed sale of the Former Jersey College for Girls and, adopting paragraph (a) of a proposition of
Deputy Robert Charles Duhamel of St. Saviour –

(a) requested the Minister for Treasury and Resources to take no steps to conclude the sale of the former Jersey College for Girls, as reported to the States on 20th February 2007 until the documentation relied upon by the Minister to establish the value of the property (land and buildings) had been presented to the States Assembly.

THE STATES rejected paragraph (b) of the proposition asking the States to agree –

(b) that the sale of the property in the terms proposed by the Minister for Treasury and Resources did not represent good value for the public of Jersey.

Declaration of interest

THE STATES noted that, in accordance with the provisions of Standing Order 106(a), Deputy Alan John Henry Maclean of St. Helier had declared an interest and had withdrawn from the Chamber during consideration of this matter.
In accordance with the provisions of Standing Order 106(c), Deputy Peter Nicholas Troy of St. Brelade had declared an interest but had remained in the Chamber for the duration of the debate.

glad it didnt get sold, as it is a public paid for asset, them it could be offices for various departments, who would get out of any rented office space , that is used by states departments , if any.
