Jersey Appointments Commission charge out of the shadows, to attack two senior politicians. They may be correct, and absolutely right. One has to ask however is this payback, by the  commission  because Senator Ozouf's  preferred Baroness Ford, decided not to bother with Jersey once a possible conflict of interest was mentioned in the JEP and scrutiny wanted to do a due diligence check.

Where does data protection sit with regard to confidential application forms, fairly high you would think, in which case, and as this is commercially sensitive information, how come the politicians names are mentioned ?

Some more questions,

Who are the Jersey Appointments Commission ?

How much are they paid if they are paid  by taxpayers?

Obviously part of their job is screening directors for arms length quangos who else do they appoint ? Hospital contract administrators maybe ?

Why did they not break cover when the JEP registered concern over the appointment of  the Baroness Ford who is registered as being a director of a company who has interests in the old WEB and Education?

Who actually appoints the Jersey Appointment Commission?

Did the spin doctors at the Chief Ministers office wheel them out to try and discredit two politicians, is this the level the States PR department work at, if so which high ranking politician ordered them into action ?

JEP

TWO politicians ‘skewed the markings’ during the recruitment process for the board of Jersey’s new States Development Company, it was claimed yesterday.
Jersey Appointments Commission member Ken Soar alleged that two States Members – who it is understood to be Senator Sarah Ferguson and Deputy Phil Rondel – gave the same candidate top scores in every competency.

regarding "skewed markings"
   a few blokes in a pub .
hi, bert , joes  coming to work  for me .
thats good, pete, joes very good  at his job.
hi, bert and pete, i hear joes coming to work for you pete, he's very good at his job, he will be a asset.
so two people came to the same conclusion.
but as you say , where did the  jersey appointments commission come from ?
these must be the people who cost the taxpayer dear,  as they say who get what inflated job (no?)
if i was them i would of sat in the corner and tried to blend into the wall.  as they  maybe do not offer value for money.

It’s a great life , but it does not have to be easy, I have told this on many occasions by my family. Why should Government, greedy monopoly businesses and ( some ) civil servants make it harder, its hard enough already.

Life in Jersey was but just a few years ago absolutely wonderful. Parking was easy, taxes were reasonable and if you were poor or rich everyone shared in the fabulous place that Jersey was and could be again.

I rarely give out any personal details, and there are many types of bullying, but I was, until one day, when another serious attack was iminent, rather than cover up as usual I fought back like a wild animal about to lose its life. On that occasion it was not me that got hurt. I also learned a very big lesson, if you let them they will. I am sure many of you will relate.

So how far are we going to allow Jersey and our quality of life to fall,  before we say enough is enough.

The truth is, it is not up to a small band of people who are holding office or title employed by the majority. Yes they have their jobs to do and some are honest, reliable and hardworking. Others  just have their snouts in the trough.

It is up to the 90,000 residents of Jersey to take personal responsibility. The truth is you will anyway, as you have fought battles in the past, the day will eventually come.

Will it be when GST is at 20%, will it be when buying a return air ticket costs £300. Will it be when anyone earning more than £20,000 receives a States loan to pay 50% of the hospital bill should they need an operation. You make up the next line if you wish because as sure as hell they are thinking up more ways to take your money away.

Make your mind  up today to be proactive, think about the people wasting your money which affects the quality of your life and must stop.

How?................................ I have plenty of legal ideas but lets hear yours.

FURIOUS Jersey Gas customers claim they are being cheated after being forced to pay five per cent GST on bills dating back to March.
An estimated 600 customers have been charged the higher rate on their entire last quarter bill – even though the tax only increased ten days ago

BB I am glad you are banging the drum because someone needs too, not just one but all of us.  £1850 per night!!!! where did these figures come from.  It is sounding more and more like a banana republic where the heads of state live a grand life and keep the plebs down, whilst living the life that they always have.

This reminds me of a friend who recently bought her house from her ex, she had to go to court like you do. Her lawyers attempted to charge her £375.50p for checking her credit that she was okay to run gas, electric and water.  As she had lived it the house for 15 years it was unnecessary.  She changed her lawyers, saving £1200 on 'miscellaneous' charges.

We are run by a bunch of crooks and the lawyers are all part of the scheme.

Time we stood up against this bunch of shysters.

To be fair, it would appear that the person who  made the statement regarding the cost of the hotel rooms on a certain blog may have initially missed the fact that there are also cheaper rooms available at the hotel so maybe a little more research is needed to establish exactly what the States paid.  The poster acknowledged this on the site he posted the information on.

CB - After today's headline in the JEP I would imagine everybody would be following you! For my part I would be up in front with you. Surely enough is now enough!

Would they care if we are picking up their expensive hotel bill?  I doubt it, neither of them will be candidates at the next election.

Just a jolly at tax payers expense before they ride in to the sunset.

Did Freddie find the casino yet?

CM would not give any answers to the questioned asked of him on the golden handshakes. This to me speaks volumes of way they think about the general public. Yes CM is retiring in October so he thinks he can cover up all he likes. This also tells me what kind of a person he is, two faced but he is alright because he is in with the establishment crowd. Who are fleecing this Island of ours dry.
If only a party could get themselvse together and put a mandate to the people so that they would be the strongest party in the States then and only then will we have proper representation because if they fail they will be voted out.
