You could easily miss
the staggering figure - so here it is in plain view - at the bottom of the page.
There have been various and some may say sympathetic figures banded about by the establishment trying to hide the disgraceful amount of money taken from the public purse to fund expensive jollies
to all corners of the world.
Chief Minister Gorst himself a lover of global travel ( paid for by us ) so little embarrassed by the episode that he declares all travel for civil servants costing more than £500 must now be declared on line and then excluded's all States members travel costs which incidentally, does not show up on the states Greff summary of travel by states members. This is a man that heads a council that wants to increase taxes and charges on every household and person on Jersey.
Still Mr King
pictured below and his fellow golfing partner Mr Gallichan, who had a lovely time in South Africa ( thank you taxpayers ) is having a heartfelt stomach churning laugh as he probably guessed the £14,000 they spent would result in no disciplinary charges as this would open the can regarding spending on Jollies for the boys and girls which would indeed have been embarrassing. The point of this post is the true cost of all excess.
For foreign guests reading this - the amount is made ridiculous by the fact the island is only 45 miles in area and has 49 states ( Gov ) members but it is mainly the twenty two " chosen ministers who do all the Jollies around the world and their civil servant friends. The opposition and sensible question type of politicians rarely go anywhere.ANYONE FOR A ROUND OF GOLF IN SOUTH AFRICA
paid for by you - certainly not me.
The States has announced an overhaul of the rules on travel, which costs around £3 million
