To be fair to The Mail (bite tongue), on 4th October 2009 they did say:

"But there were no bodies and, according to a Jersey government spokeswoman, the total cost of the investigation is likely to reach an incredible £20million"

Note the accreditation of source, and the "likely to reach".

Forget Senator Syvret. unless of course your to obsessed with your hatred of him, In which case I suggest you seek help ;)

Do you think all the claims for money under the HCAE have been justified or are some of them taking the piss???

Not sure to whom your question is aimed Newmac.

However, there has been the suggestion that some of the claims were "taking the piss". For example, The Mail on Sunday claimed, inter alia that:

"Financial investigators have spent months poring over the inquiry's costs. They have found they were massively inflated - not only by Harper's mismanagement, but by frequent trips to London, where he and his colleagues claimed expenses for lavish meals."

Anyone who's really :)

It's just looking at some of the requests, I feel some are using the HCAE as an excuse to get extra funding, I maybe totally wrong :-\

Hi newmac.

I think your right we seem to have had a huge increase in the abuse investigation under Warcup & Gradwell. Now that might be because they didn't have a clue what was going on money wise. There has def been some lets say extra funding going on, no doubt about.

Like i say the best way to find out is in the states web site.

They will have used the £20m to cover up other things that they have over spent on somewhere else in the states other dept. I have never known the States to be in such a mess financially and trying to cover up their mistakes. When it was Committees it was much better but now having a small gang in charge and they are doing what ever they want ( but hopefully this is coming to an end ) making mistakes all over the place. Ozouf giving money out to sex model on Battle of Flowers etc etc how many other little things he has help out, still the £20m will cover most things up. We want a honest man in charge please!!!

Oh cool we have managed to move onto Jodie Marsh!  I went down to the moonlight parade specifically to support her and I thought she was an excellent choice for a Battle of Flowers Celebrity.  Its just a shame they could not get hold of Ron Jeremy to be her escort.

Found this so im putting it up so i can try and work out where all the money has gone and get behind the myth of the 20 million shambles. I think mr vautier should have some idea.

From what I can see on the States website they should look a lot more closely at some of the departments claims for funding as they are clearly not to do with the HCAE.
It's all very well to blame Lenny Harper, but it appears to have cost more since he retired, but then again it's only our money so why would people be interested.

That link is 11 months old and for some reason this crap is being brought up time and time again by Mr Sorda to bore us all to death.  Go and stick on syvret's blog or Time for Confusion FFS or even take it to fu***ng facebook!

There is nothing new and all you and Mr Sorda are doing is re-selling yesterday's news.  All everybody can do now is wait for the eventual public enquiry and thats that.
