Fair and reasonable reviews? sorry, JTM but judging by many of your response/moderations so far I don't think I'll be holding my breath in anticipation of that one. As one of my mates said, is this site Elect Jersey in disguise?

As for Deputy Dawg, on the issue of the JDA, opinions are fine and I respect everyone's right to hold whatever opinions they wish, right or wrong, agree with them personally or not, but as far as the inaccuracy of 99% of his observations expressed thus far go, if someone wants to form a genuine picture of what the current JDA are about from those players I have listenend/talked to then the best thing they could do is probably read DD's comments and then conclude that the exact opposite is true.

JTM only thoughts, but reading your words about honesty I also can't help but notice that I have never heard (read) you saying anything constuctive about the JDA even on issues when most, even opponents, would consider that the views expressed were right. For example fairer taxation with those who really can afford to pay a little more doing so rather than the burden being pushed on to the likes of us, reduction of number of States members, controlling States financial waste before committing us to GST, removal of secret ballot for CM, the madness of pursuing the incinerator move when better more environmentally friendly, cheaper technology is available, splitting the powers/roles of the Bailiff etc.

I await another torrent of abuse (thats ok, I've never been intimidated by boys bluster) but it seems to me that often both you and one or two users of this forum have different responses dependent not on what was said but whosaid it. I.e. if Mr A says it, fine, if the JDA say it, let's slag it/undermine it anyway. I know you even get the Darius'of this world who go that stage further and try to claim that this idea or that idea originated from them so for others to express it is somehow devalued, I noticed he was even trying to lay claim to the Bailiff issue when the fact is this has been talked about for decade upon decade, but this just illustrates the reality that the reason so little progress is made is because too many people are obsessed with laying claim to ideas etc. What is needed for progress and something which I respect the JDA for is acknowledging that stuff like this is not important it is being willing to work together that is. So few others are.

Always amuses me too how with your obsession about Those Tax Idiots etc you never have much to say about Senator Syvret's much talked about association with this organisation. Curious that.

You are the one that is ranting cause you cannot get your own way.  Didn't Senator Syvret threaten to sue ATTAC for deformation last year?  I remember them claiming something about him asking them for a job.

The ATTAC people have been very friendly with Stuart Syvret since he hit the headlines on this child abuse.  It is amusing really, because they managed to release a statement on this child abuse scandal and involve numerous comments bout Jersey being a secretive tax haven.

How they connected this I have no idea.

They also more or less claimed that they and Staurt are singing from the same songsheet now.

Latest message from Montfort Tadier:

If you want Terry Le Sueur or Phil Ozouf as your next Chief Minister, then please do not come to the meeting this Thursday at 7pm.

If you do not want them and want to learn more about how to get them out at the next elections, then do come along.

Food will be provided. Message me for more info.

I think the big one is not for another week.

I will go along, I have a few ideas of getting rid of the establishment.

Interesting comment by Syvret on his blog today.....

"The JDA is serving precisely no purpose right now – other than to fulfil the “monster” part of the five-filter media model as described by Chomsky – to the great service of the Jersey establishment. And – the very fact that the JDA’s Glorious Supreme Leader cannot, and will not, see that says all you need to know, really, about why it isn’t a credible organisation."

I was listening to talk back this morning and Emile Collins goes, like he does every week, people should support the JDA!  Don Fillieul goes "well he has been saying the same for years and I doubt the stone will be broken in your liftime".  Or words similar to that effect.
It is true though.  The JDA just does not have enough clout to get the numbers of supporters they need.  But at least, I guess Emile sticks by his beliefs, so perhaps Don was a bit rude in saying this to him.

I find it amazing that they don't even appear to have a web-site where we can read up on what they're all about, what their stances are, etc.

I like to see things in writing.
