I did make a joke when we were waiting for GST to arrive that PoundWorld would have to change it's name to £1.03 World.

Can anybody believe they actually CHARGE £1.03??

Now that is silly!

While on the subject, magazines in Spar seem to vary in GST addition depending whether you shop at Snow Hill or at Colomberie. None of the staff seem to know how it is calculated and when you try to find out more, they don't appear to understand you any more all of a sudden...

POUNDWORLD

From today all the goods in Jersey's poundworld shops are back to costing a pound.

They've been a pound and three pence since GST came in.

But bosses have decided to absorbed the cost of the tax.

Martin Cottier says a pound and three shop never felt right.
