£6 million used from the Social Security fund.

What is this i heard about £6 million being used from the S&S funds for the treasury department on something. Has ozouf been up to his tricks again?

Apparently it was agreed bu the States some time ago. If they start dipping in this we're on a very slippery slope. Yes, it very looks like one of Ozouf's stupid tricks. Put it back right now !!!

 any idea what they were plundering the pension fund  for ?

One of the politicians who pushed through Jerseys lates GAAP accounting was appalled at the old system of States departments sweet shop accounting with millions involved.

What used to happen was that should as an example TTS not spend all its budget and education had spent to much in a year then TTS would say no problem have a top up, take some of our money.

This made keeping to budgets a complete waste of time for departments and politicians and of course a complete mess ensued.

Senator Ferguson and other politician's were up in arms when Senator Gorst last year decided to top up Health using the social security fund meant for other purposes by £6 million, again making a mockery of proper accounting practice.

If my memory serves me correctly, and I may be wrong - aware politicians said this was a return to the bad old days.
