its only as guess, some have been laid of , from danara sites as fritz had seen a few come looking on his site .
and could be  that  parents have got sick of  paying out for their  young adults  that are laying round the house  as they have no meaningfull work with a future , as  the cost of food  still rises , the  annual bills arrive, have packed the off to social security  to claim job seekers .
its only going to rise , imo.

Don't forget these figures are only for people who are registered as unemployed. The real figure is much, much higher. It is not compulsory to register if you are unemployed.People with any savings cannot claim benefits so probably don't bother registering.I am sure most of the people registered would also be benefit claimants.Unemployed people from the finance industry for example probably wouldn't bother.Be interesting to know how many jobseekers these recruitment agencies have on their books.

There are many, "Self-employed", contractors and tradesmen out of work who are not allowed to register as unemployed.

in my eye if you are unemployed you must register, to claim your  "u credits" which should go to your pension, as your are seeking work.
or are social trying to move the goal posts  to avoid paying out a full pension.
the lies that i hear of comming from that department of late, lost letters ,  wrong information, part rents not paid to housing , ( income support) putting the tenant in arrears, which they know little of till housing tell them .
the mother( works) has a 3bed home  a teenage boy and girl, as the girl is 19(she did work till laid off)  social only pay for a two bed  rent , the boy had some work experiance ( now unemployed ) his part of the rent is paid as is the mothers .
so there is a short fall, these kids are not chavs ,they are nice kids and would work if there was some  they could go to .( the system is as clear as mud)
what is going on down in la motte street i dont know . >:(
the fact that  the voice from behind the counter tells you  you dont have to register  is a lie  imo.
as much as  telling  married women in the 70's that a red card was the way to go, another fable .
more so if you became divorced or  your hubby died  and then you married again to a bloke who works still.
the wifes off down there some day  soon as other information of how others are being paid , has come to light
she has all day to do it too.  ;D

Some women who elected to transfer onto  their husbands (red) card when they married are elible for a pension in their own right before their husbands retire IF they put in the required number of years paid enough social security contributions before they married.  You won't be told unless you investigate. :)

So if you paid into social for long enough before you married in your own right -  go down to SS and ask if you can draw a small pension at the age of 60 years.
