The new old Council of Ministers
« on: November 18, 2011, 10:19:25 PM »
So, we have had 3 terrible years under Chief Minister Terry Le Ozouf what now?

Can CM Gorst see out his three years?  We are back with the Ozouf show but with one slight difference Sir Philip is holding the choker.

Treasury was the most important post. He got back in because the vote was secret simple as that. If you want to know who nominated him that is also simple look at who voted Bailhache for Chief Minister. As the new states gets under way I expect it to be worse than the last 3 years.

Senator Gorst needs strong people around him in the com who are able to stand up to Senators Ozouf and Bailhache and to be honest I can't see that he has that support.

It's going to be a difficult 3 years for him. Listening to the questions over the past couple of days has to me shown that there could be a bigger divide between the com and backbenchers, I just hope I'm wrong.

The only positive I can take is that Southern has not managed to get a ministerial position and just wasted the chambers time in standing for the 2 departments.

Lets have a good news Saturday,

Cohen, best friend and heavy supporter of Ozouf gone, Le Main gone, Mike Jackson and  Peter Hanning gone, all out of touch with the public and part of a self supporting group.

Ogley, Pollard and Izatt gone.

Good news still in that the foreign minister post appears to have been binned, however , home affairs and health got taken up by people weak in those positions.

A thank you to those elected politicians that strive for openness and transparency, these are the confident leaders who have nothing to fear from the odd mistake but everything to fear from the underhand  poor  or self interest, even corrupt, shoddy work of other weaker characters, which they obviously try to hide in a smokescreen and lack of information.

Also well done to the States IT team who through the Government website  give out heavy weight information that is ahead of many countries, and allows the keen investigative detailed research  that catches out politicians and senior civil servants that lie.

There are some good people in the States, and some very big ego’s more concerned with titles and being seen as important, their main interest.

Come the elections in three years time,  islanders will be looking more to genuine blogs and forums for information on who has done what in Government ,after the abysmal reporting by the MSM backing their own candidates, when they should be actually informing the public that fund them.

As Rico says,

Truth, Transparency Integrity ……………………… we are watching and reporting to make those aims happen.

Boatyboy.

All imo of course.
