Minister nominations
« on: November 16, 2011, 10:48:59 AM »
Senator Ian Gorst, has released his nominations for his Council of Ministers

Treasury Minister           -  Ian Le Marquand
Social Security                -  Francis Le Gresley
Housing                          -  Andrew Green
Education                       -  Patrick Ryan
Economic Development  -  Alan Maclean
Health                            -  Ann Pryke
Planning                         -  Rob Duhamel
Home Affairs                   -  Lyndon Farnham
TTS                                 -   John Refault

The scary one for me is Treasury just look at the bumbling mess he made of home affairs, I would prefer Ozouf to Le Marquand

Awwe don't worry newmac he may be better with numbers than he is with people.

I hope Alan McClean has purchased himself a nice new file to replace the errant one!  Thanks file the Park is a beautiful sanctuary in the area!  A file with foresight!

Maybe Anne Pryke will get motivation from the current Chief who knows?

Very interesting he says rubbing chin, game on,  as the top man points his finger at the line up. I want you, you and you and…………on my team.

No sign of  Senator Bailhache or Ozouf yet but trust me ( then again why should you ) they are not far away, pulling strings, networking in an effort to get their hands on the power they crave. The game has just begun, not ended.

Further if you or I, were in Senator Gorst position, we would know the players far better, and although making his choice for a CoM  has IMO overlooked far more efficient people, for the wrong reasons. Knowing it was going to be a close fight did he make deals before the election for CM probably but clearly he is wrong in choice for health Minister.

To date a lack lustre indeed stumbling performance from Anne Pryke at one of Jerseys heavy weight spending departments gives little confidence to islanders, which will reflect on the Government generally.

I state openly that there are politicians I email or pmail on here as do many other blogers who have concerns. This applies to Sarah Ferguson who is a long time member of pj and gave an interview to the very professional VFC blog.

IMO Sarah Ferguson who is chair of Coporate Scrutiny would be far better as Health Minister for several reasons.

Health has a massive budget of £169 million. Ferguson, like Gorst is excellent at understanding figures and can read a balance sheet, and this helps see the bigger picture.

Nice but gullable Anne Pryke at the helm has not been at all impressive. Try not to have a child that will need ongoing medical treatment after the age of three. Health say the parents will have to find the money, until the story went public catching them out, yet again, confirming that they are out of touch with reality, and the public.

I hope Senator Ferguson is proposed and supported for the position, being a tough lady, as Anne Pryke has clearly tried, but failed.

Just in Ozouf prepares to do battle and will fail as treasury mister IMO, as Senator Bailhache has been taken under the wing of the CM Gorst so his supporters will vote with the CM his new friend.

At least Ian Gorst realises that the Minister for Health needs to be changed, but why the spin doctor Ozouf. So  desperate to get some power Senator Ozouf even made it his second choice, not good for such a large department, not at all good.

JeP
Former Bailiff Senator Philip Bailhache, who was beaten by Senator Gorst to the job of Chief Minister by just three votes on Monday, will be an assistant minister at the Chief Minister’s department, as will Senator Paul Routier. They do not have to be elected.

Senator Ozouf has announced that he will stand for Treasury Minister, the position he currently holds, and, if unsuccessful, will stand for Health – a position he was asked by the Chief Minister to consider.
