I can't see the need for 5000 units and they don't all have to be in the same place.

There is a new sea water pumping house being built at the top of La Collette slipway, next to Fox marine.  I am told that the old pump house adjacent to it is to be demolished when the new one is complete, this is  a small steel clad unit around 1000 sq/ft, surely this would be an ideal unit for marine trader or fisherman to work from. IMO another wasted oppurtunity.

Well if the old pumps need renewing then get it done as son as possible because this pump house is the main fire water pumps for the whole of the La Collett site. Fuel farm etc etc etc.

quite true  why not split the area (old pump house ) into small units inside , communal toilets  to  stop any nonsence . above all they need to be affordable  and you can only get one if you take on a willing school leaver to train .
and  rubber stamp the change of use with out any old flim flam.
if the price is right , they will come .

Unemployment at 1500 now (probably a lot more without all the governmemnt figure massaging) and still they want to build more shops and offices, when is the penny going to drop that people have got to have proper places to work and create economic activity. Business needs to grow and create more business and so on, its got to happen somewhere
