The £100 note.
« on: November 01, 2011, 04:54:08 PM »
It seems that ozouf went out on his own with this idea of a £100 with the Queen's head on it. The cost was £50,000 if i heard correct. ozouf was spinning so much in the chamber today that i thought he might take off through the window. Another case of going it alone from him and not listening to advise that was given to him.

i wondered if the queen had  her crown  / tiara  on , as our duke of normandy  wears  no crown.
i tried  to get  three  of these  £100 notes   from the bank the other day as   ,  some one was short after paying  a dental bill.
we need them in circulation , if only  to fill up the car with fuel, or pay for a round of drinks  on a night out ,  two required  for the food shopping for the week, and definately two to put aside  for the rent .
it would be quite funny cb, if ozouf  took off ,out  thru the window .
 lol.

Funny Indeed!  I wonder how many of these £100 notes would it take to put him back together again!  All the Queen's Horses and all the Queen's Men.

I think it was meant to be a decent gesture but on reflection I just look at it as something else for our well off to get pompous about...."Excuse me sir I would like to purchase a bottle of water, you wouldnt perchance happen to have change for a hundred would you".

Another thing I will add is when you are out on the booze and you dont want to break into a £50 note because once its broken it will be spent, maybe Philip is thinking of the economy because once you break into that £100 note, it will be spent!!

There is a list of cutbacks coming and more stealth tax's to follow but Ozouf decides that now is the time to spend money on designing and printing a £100 note.

He clearly is on another planet. Maybe Sir Phillip and the new members, can bring some common sense to the table ?

Here is another thought that maybe the BBC might care to put on the " to do list "

Does Jersey print loads of its own special money and then swap it for real money ie sterling, who checks the amounts and flow ?

I understand that not one of the other ministers passed any comment on ozouf £50,000 he spent without telling anybody what he was doing. I get the feeling that since sir phil has come onto the scene ozouf is being left out of things, so if phil becomes CM do you think ozouf will be a minister? The reason i ask this is because in the last few months all the cock ups he has made and it seems that he has not had any backing from the CoM. He would not say if he would put in for the CM job, waiting to see the results of the elections and now knows that he has no chance of beating sir Phil. I wonder if he is worrying about his future on the CoM. He knows he will be out in the three years time. Surprised he did not come up with a £60 note as it is the Queen's diamond anniversary. Wait until we are independent sir phil will have his head on the notes.

Ooooooh!  Ye of so little faith!  Brown envelopes?  Really?  I must say though - I think you are right.

Hmm back to the thought of Sir Phil's face on the note.  Will the visual be in pensive, arty, farty mood? Stern and patriarchal 'Don't cross ME, I know what's best for you'  mood?  Pompous and 'I will not listen to anyone who doesn't own or earn XXX bucks' mood?  Or,  just plain smiley and 'I am not such a bad chap after all you know' mood as seen at the hustings?

Cali current mood -  :'(

This £100 note is a con.
A good percentage of , "First issues", will be kept as souvenirs and never redeemed.
Its just like the Post Office taking advantage of the feeble minded with their, "Special Edition ", stamps.

According to Ozouf the project cost £256.000and 4750 notes need to be in circulation to break even
I assume they will be sold at £100 each and therefore 4750 notes will bring in £475.000
How did our master spin boy work out his break even point ?
To me it would be 2560 notes or am I being stupid ?
In these difficult economic times there is no guarantee at that he will break even
By the way Ozouf has done spent our money before without telling anyone. Some years ago he gave the Battle of Flowers Association £90.000 without telling a soul - just like that !
Who know what else has he spent our money on without telling anyone
He is a serious liability to the island and he needs to be stopped !

If the £100 note proves to be a success, why not bring out a £500 note?
This could actually work out as a fair way of taxing the , "More money than sense", bracket.
Bring on the £1,000,000 note.

The £1M note is a good idea. With impending inflation it would save pushing a wheelbarrow around to contain ones cash for incidental payments, you know the sort of thing the daily paper, a cup of coffee! ;). as was the case when I visited Italy on holiday once when they still used the Lira and their rate of inflation was increasing at an alarming rate.

According to last nights jep it will cost £250K! and on the next page we are told that they are cutting the holiday school to save £80,000.  This holiday club is essential to working parents.  They are having a laugh!

.......and Roseneath will close sooner rather than later because they need a paltry £30,000 a year to keep afloat.

What happened to that short-lived 'we must save Roseneath' Philip.

Why don't you just have your own face printed on these ridiculous, unnecessary £100 notes Philip. One disaster after another.

I swear if I am faced with a tax bill I will refuse to pay it and ask for a refund of PO for all the squandering of OUR money that he has managed with consumate ease.

Watch this space!

Could not agree more.

Its a minor issue but very revealing.

Philip has, without doubt, lost the plot.

But thankfully we have been saved from vainglorious manipulation. In the wider sense.

Only be offered it under anothers name. Albeit the same.

Move to Spain people of Jersey. The locals here have a huge sense of social responsibility.

Plus the sun. And the food. And...errr...better sex.
