Disaster for St John
« on: October 06, 2011, 10:37:12 AM »

I have been following the election campaigns of the 3 candidates for the post of Deputy of St John

I am absolutely amazed that Andrew Lewis has the cheek to even consider standing for re election as Deputy of St John given his track record in the Parish

This is the man that when the recreation centre was in difficulties thought that the only solution was to demolish the centre and build houses and with the money build another community centre, I am pleased to say that the present trustees and management have done a fantastic job in getting the centre up and running very successfully, and the centre has never been used so much and is going from strength to strength.

This is the man that wanted to build 45 “rabbit hutches” sorry I mean homes for the over 55s on fields 605 & 608. There are now only 14 nice homes being built for the over 55s on 605 to purchase and now field 608 is owned by the parish protecting it from further development.

This is the man that was at the centre of the Ex Police Chief debacle which is costing the Island many thousands of pounds.

I believe that Mr Lewis just wants to get back into the corridors of power and has proven that he does not listen to the parishioners of St John so quite what he means by his logo PARISH STRENGTH I am not sure unless of course he is riding on the coat tails of what has been achieved in the parish over the last 5 years.

St John will needs all the luck it can get if he is re elected, St John needs one good candidate and I am afraid Mr Lewis is not it.

Why would the Parishioners of St John want Andrew Lewis Back?

Thanks for your views Northerner, as with many people I have taken to reading the more upmarket local bloggs who although independent, and no doubt contain an element of biased, also offer factual and correct reference on which to base their opinions.

Mr Lewis like Senator Ian Le Marquand got dragged into the suspension of the ex-police chief Graham Power. It was as this time that their true qualities as political leaders and their integrity had a chance to shine through.

Based on their actions ( some would say lack of action ) in this fiasco, I have to agree with you Northener, that Mr Lewis had his chance and like the current Minister for Home Affairs ( whom I voted for )  failed dismally. This will probably go hand in hand with  their re-election chances.

Boatyboy.

Part of the "Chamber of Commerce" party as they have targeted several positions, with the following and one or two others: james Baker, Rod Bryans, Lyndon Farnham, Dominic Jones, James Le Feuvre, Steve Luce. Richard Rondel, Ray Shead (or as my mate says Mr S head)

Andrew Lewis has some neck after what he did when he did the last couple of months as Home minister.
He should be ashamed of himself. He may say that he was told so and so for what he did but then you would have to say that he is easy lead by the establishment of which he wants to be one. Hope for all our sakes he does not get in.

If Andrew Lewis is elected he will immediatly walk the corridors of power looking at ways of enhancing his business and self promotion, the electors of the Parish of St John need to have a long look into the past term that he spent in the states and representing the parish ie the rec centre debarcle etc and he did bsupport inapropriate building in green fields ie fields 605 and 608. He will do very little for the parish ????

Years ago when he joined the Scouts Assocation everybody could see right through him for what he was and wanted to be.

I doubt it, we are talking about the ones that allowed Graham Butcher to be elected. The wall paper was on the wall in his case, what a pity you did not see it North boy.
