"Travellers"
(1/1)
Fritz:
What plans do the Jersey Government have in place to stop ,"Travellers", from setting up camp on, "Queen,s Land", in Jersey?
Now that caravans are allowed, what,s to stop a ,"Dale Farm", scenario here?
danrok:
So long as they repair the roads, before they are evicted.
man in the street:
correct me if i am wrong but you are not allowed to live in a caravan over here on common land .
if you are i have been very misguided in striving to buy a house, when a good trailer would of done the job.
there is quite a good bit of common land in jersey, some can still graze cattle on it , if they dont mind flying golf balls .
in fact if i could put a trailer somewhere , i would do it and live there till the house is habitable , and save£1000 pound a month in rent , and give some work to people to bring the job on.
Chevalier Blanc:
Caravans can only go to a recognized site when coming into the island for a holiday and you are not allowed to live on a boat or caravan. Caravans must be kept out of sight when not in use ( ie parking at home ).
The locals who have mobile homes used to stay over night at the old Marina Hotel on St.Ouen's Bay. They got moved off and now they stay overnight at La Port St.Ouen's Bay.
