Jersey Telecom landline Phones going from very good to rubbish service now
!CaveMan:
if you are still on sytem X at the exchange your lucky as the island is being tranferred to some other system, i dont know what its called but it has reduced my quality of talking to friends and customers to the point im complaining like mad 6 times so far to JT and they just say you have a fault! and nothing is done, they still send the same bill charges out for an inferrior service!
what happens is when you make a call or are called by someone
there is now an Echo of your voice,
also there is a hissing sound that goes as soon as you talk,
but it sounds like the other party has hung up on you, as soon as they speak the first bit of their voice is missing, like its triggering the exchange to activate and share the service
and numbers you dial dont get recognised
if anyone else has this prob give the telecoms some STICK about it ! as its NOT a Fault but their doing.
its' making my life hell because my father had a stroke and i can hardley understand him on this system.
thanks for reading this................

Caveman,
sympathise with you the NGN system is causing havoc.
Have you tried changing the filter on your telephone socket? Have all your sockets that are in use got filters?
!CaveMan:
it's not just my home phone but my work ones are having the same probs as of today.
iv'e got three lines to JT and two have migrated to the new system and the filters are not causing the probs it's like they have gone to voice over internet protocol or whatever
but its driving us all mad because of the hissing and delay and echo and causing bad relationships between loved ones as they think we have hung up! half the time
the JT wont accept they are to balme and insist on saying we have a fault on the line
but a line problem cant cause an echo or a hissing sound or a cut off of words if you have a line prob there is zero communication!
so i hope they will reduce the phone rental if they insist on this inferrior service or i will give up my phones and go mobile.
man in the street:
my home phone is rubbish, the last bloke( who was the best so far ) traced the fault to outside .
the other bandit who arrived before , had returned from jersey live ,last year and looked rough and smelt of drink, i had to pay a fee for this clown and the phone was no better .
and the usual old flannel from jt.
thankfully my internet works .
i was about to get a airtel pay as you go land line and sack the jt land line off , but the wife gets it cheap line rental so so long as we can hear something and talk will put up with anything.
Calimachon:
I came across this little piece this morning. Interesting but sadly it takes JT four days to get to a customer in difficulty, due I think to their new system.

Sorry on going back to check on the link I now find that you need a subscription to view the entire piece of the article I submitted above.
New technology, progress?
