Airport foot path

Does anybody know if the foot path that used to run from the airport road to St Peters village is still open? or was it closed for safty reasons

I cycled along it not long ago and it was open, although it goes down parallel with the football pitch, then runs in line with the bottom road then along the main road coming out at the junction at the start of the 20 mph.
