It is alleged that it is 'Nice money if you can get it.  You can get it if you can!'

That is if you know the right man!

So, the very court which has indicted him for fraud, has also be paying him 342 grand!

Ironic beyond belief!

Bring back public hangings.

boatyboy:

I completely agree with you on that Danrok, the cost of overpriced lawyers shuffling paper to each other in and endless money making sort of way, while prosecuting  Syvret for massive life changing  criminal charges, one of a driving licence infraction and the other of a data protection offence they tell us the cost is in the region of 4 to 5 hundred thousand. Not that Syvret is squeaky clean, he has been a very naughty boy over the licence issue, after which he has been following his conscience.

Can you really be sure that the  spin doctors employed by the Chief Ministers office have been feeding Jersey's media with the true legal cost's - remember the election ?

Yet the amount of work Syvret has put in and being successful in two of his appeals must have been hard work for a non lawyer. A magistrate can stay at home for three years while still getting paid almost £350,000 without doing one hours work for the public he is employed to serve is plain madness.

No doubt if the court finds him guilty then will that money be returned to the public purse ?
