"The Incinerator is safe".
« on: December 23, 2010, 08:29:07 PM »
So a worker being badly scalded during testing=SAFE, according to Mike Jackson.

The safety disc/valve exploded during testing.

Surely, if the disc/valve, was designed to fail at a certain pressure/temperature, suitable measures would have been taken to ensure that nobody would be in the ,"Danger Zone", at the time of failure?

Why were the , "Safety-Elves", not informed of the ,"Dangerous Occurrence", until 24hrs after the incident?
Was this to allow folk responsible time to get their stories straight, and, "Tidy up", the accident(?) site? ::)

maybe  every time a  ambulance is called to a place of work , the ambulance station calls the   health and safety team , mind you this could be  side stepped by , "can you make it to the van mate , dont worry i will pay you while you are off".
sadly the injured worker has horrible burns , what i would like to know is
1. what was he doing in that area , whilst testing.
2. was theACCESS to the valve marked with a sign  stating that discharge  may happen at ANY TIME.
3. at what pressure did the  valve / disc fail and are the others the same(are they what was in the spec?).
there have been a lot of hearsay roumours about the building of this project.

It does beg the question as to who is responsible for safety is it the contractor or TTS?

In my experience TTS turn a blind eye to safety so as to get the job done, no consideration for the workers.

We will know how "safe" it is if he takes the States for compensation, and there's an external inquiry (not one of those internal fudges so beloved of Sir Humphrey Appleby and Terry Le Sueur)

There will be problems with the roads into the facility very soon after it is fully operational and taking heavy traffic.

I,ll post the photos of the sub-structure in the same week that the JEP/Channel TV are reporting, "Minor repairs/ teething problems", early in the new year.

HO HO HO.

Some very expensive false economies in this case are going to cost the tax payer very dearly, the problem being that when the proverbial hits the fan the Minister will have been replaced with some other inexperienced politician who will like his predecessors have no background in managing such major projects, you would trust this lot to build a house so why multi million pound projects.

What you will find is that the Managers turn blind eyes to safety while the manual workers try to explain to managers that what they are being asked to do is dangerous. This is where Bullying comes in to the workforce. The future will be bad for you if you refuse to break safety laws. I have first hand experience of this with myself and other cases.
