Xmas tips, on your local shopping experiances to save money etc.
« on: December 12, 2010, 05:54:38 PM »

As thousands were in town today It occured to me that as we form ideas on presents for our loved ones and others, it  would be a good idea to pass on any interesting and money saving tips. The power of the internet.

Last Thursday I went into HMV at Voisins with the idea of purchasing " Avatar" the film in blu ray for a friend and it was priced at under £18.00. Knowing that the English price is around £19.99 and noticing the que at the  very busy till thought pop back Sunday as I'm back in town then.

Price this Sunday just under £21.  The friend I was with, suggested we go to blockbuster its always cheaper there, they said. Will try them Monday. As HMV is ripping off on this film, God only knows what else we are paying too much for?

The second pass on, is for anyone with a small limited liability Co. Its a rip-off again paying to register annually, UK £30, Jersey £150-00.  Ozouf wanted to increase the figure to £250.00 and Southern to £600-00 annually. The admin at JFC costs £35 quid and the rest is a stealth tax which is given to the taxman. This is a fact.

Good news there has been an outcry behind the scenes, and the charge is staying at £150.00.

What is surprising is accountants charge small businesses around £150-00 to fill a form in when it can be downloaded free of charge and takes five minutes to complete. So save yourself £150.00 pop in to the JFC on the old Funland site, next to Sand street car park, ask them to help you fill in the form and save yourself a bundle. Anyone can legally fill in the annual registration and the form is called C20 and can be found at.

Yep it looks confusing shares and all that stuff, but trust me, they will help you and it is simple.I took a copy of the form so I could fill it in the same next year. The accountant should supply you with last years to copy if not then the information needed.  Easy, the counter staff there are actually very helpful and professional.
