Durendal  you have made some valid points and you have just written,

First of all you seem to reading a different version of Napier so it must be in your interpretation of the report.
Yes there were procedural failures but the reasons for Power’s suspension were straightforward as he had left a subordinate Mr Harper act in a totally inappropriate manner.

You do seem to have forgotten some very important facts before we even get close to Brian Napier (with a very, very narrow remit)

Namely.

The police chief was dealing with excited and forceful politicians behind the scenes, to keep them away from the investigation allowing Lenny Harper to deal with the day to day work. The ex CM Frank Walker  offered an open cheque book. Remember the police force ( and its investigations ) must be at arm’s length from strong minded  controlling politicians, some argue that in Jersey these boundaries  after PC Graham Power (retired ) have now merged. Trial by media, is the new way. There is more detail,  read up.

Graham Power invited  mentoring  (intervention)  from ACPO  (Association of Chief Police officers ) who gave advice which was carried out by the Jersey force.  ACPO have written that they were pleased with the investigation under Police Chief G. Power and by extension Mr Harper. All of their suggestions (ACPO) were carried out promptly.

It is CM Terry Le Suer and the CoM that have ordered further  reports at great expense to the taxpayer.

QC Brian Napier is finding it very difficult to come back to Jersey, and present his report to an open forum of politicians and doubters who wish to ask further questions.

What does that tell you ?

Rob

You seem to ignore the fact that mass murderers do not normally stop until they are caught.

Cannot see that happening here.

Again there is no smoking gun all what you quote is circumstantial dfor goodness sake drips get turned off and as I said where is evidence of poisoning which is detectable?

Finally 2 police forces is Syvret better than them maybe he should change his first name to Hercule.

Enough said he is yesterday's news and I am off to worry about the trouble along the 38th parallel

Just quickly Durendal before you tune into another exciting episode of WWIII can you say if, in your opinion, given that they found the drugs, guns, ammo, syringes and potassium etc that he should have been allowed to serve again in residential care settings?

If i can make one suggestion guys. Go and get the transcripts. What came out in court between the defence, prosecution and the witnesses is worth a serious read. None of it got reported and once you have read it then discuss it.

Rico thanks for that. But where do you get court transcripts? How quickly are they available to the public? Is there a charge for them and can you request electronic versions? And if the answers to the above questions are, eternity, very expensive an no then can I borrow yours? LOL!

Durendal - in the meantime can you still give me your opinion on the question I raised earlier?

If they were illegally obtained or held he should have been charged and tried.

If guilty then that would have stopped him taking any job around vunerable people. - I know the law is new but those standards were applied to health professionals.

Nurse M was initially charged with the theft of stealing drugs from the Hospital for which he was sentenced to two years unsupervised probation, and sacked from the General Hospital.

Previously he had been employed by the States of Jersey Police, but his services were dispensed with for various reasons.

Arrested again after the illegal drugs, medications and firearms among other items were found in his possession and held at St Saviour's Hospital pending bail application.

Disturbingly, it was revealed in Stuarts court case, that NO doctors involved with the deceased patients were interviewed as part of the police investigations, and furthermore nurses were not interviewed face to face, but by way of a questionnaire!!

Now I don't know about you Durendal, but that is not what I would call good police work, but I stand by what I hear in the court-room and maintain Stuart did have a genuine public interest case.

And it is because of what was said in court that im staying well away from this case. It still has a long way to go. I heard Channel 4 have been covering it and two other uk journalists.

Im not sure about the transcripts will find out for you. There is one word that is in dispute about the original police investigation a the local media have all been using it.

Read the transcripts
