Aha! The old Purple helmet trick?? Hmm, not for me old sock! Getting caught out by chewing on too much beetroot is bad enough!
After the yph shoved some dental floss in the can I was down the quack's for two hours getting checked out for threadworm! At least the vet doesn't take so long.

So you reckon I should be addressing my question to someone who is short in the leg but high on finance? I  wonder, those types never give a straight answer, as for  doing a Milk Tray run, I'm afraid my black spandex don't fit too well all motheaten and what and the last time I put the Balaclava on I was locked up for three weeks being questioned.

WMD seems to be a PM/CM disease.

Both of the above comments proving my point more than succinctly.
Actually I should include my own , so all three of the above points indicate that we are straying from the thread, not that a lot of other peope have not strayed from the thread , or even that, if there ever was a thread , then it was almost impossible to stray , because to have continued on the thread would have required a degree of "dog in a manger" attitude ,not seen for , whew! quite a couple of millenia!
I suggest that we all meet up for Christmas ,sing our best bits of Stuart Christ Superstar .........bags be Judas!

Spartacus, I agree with you.

All those blogs regurgitating the past when they should be writing contemporaneous, original material about Jersey, such as the latest posting on the Farce blog entitled, 'Media Coverage of the Jersey child abuse investigation', which curiously digresses into a non sequitur about filicide.

It's a highly original and deeply-researched thesis, but I wonder where they got it from?

FERK SAKE ! You simply do not get it do you Kent!
Who actually gives a flying fvck about the HDLG thread which causes you and a few mates to have so many hissy fits?
do not read the freakin thread !
Who cares about "Felicide" I do not even know what felicide means !
As an antidote to the Syvret Blog or even a homeopathic remedy , it simply showed to me that there are an equal amount of lunatics on both sides.
I have been over it for quite a while , suggest you and your mates take a pill and do the same or as someone no doubt much wiser than me said "chill your beans man"

Spartacus, calm down. Why are you so obsessed with what I think?

I was going to suggest that since, as you and your friends keep saying, this is a dead subject, nobody now believes it, nobody reads the Voice and Rico blogs apart from a tiny handful of nutters, why does it bother you? You don't have to read it and you don't have to respond to it.

I find the Farce blog hilarious by the way. I never used to read it but recently it has been cracking me up because it is so patently fake and ridiculous.

I think the reason that all of this still matters, is that it is indicative of whether you live under the rule of law or not. I mean, if large investigations can just be hijacked by politicians and the Chief of Police illegally suspended, I would have thought that that was a matter of concern to anyone living on the island.

But maybe you don't care about that, which is fine. Nobody is asking you to contribute to the debate.

Kent , I am calm, I have just had my dinner , liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti,,,,fffffffffffff, mm lovely!
On here I do not have any friends , I have, associates  people with simple lives who like to bask in the glory of my wit and wisdom and I indulge them occasionally, by throwing morsels of my musings at them ,it almost feels like being a charity sometimes.
I joined this blog sometime back and do not visit Disordas Site nor voice for idiots site.
Regarding the rule of law, you live in a country which went to war over "weapons of mass destruction"  and thousands upon thousands of REAL MEN AND WOMEN  have died as a consequence , yet you find it entertaining to be involved in what is a local blog , about what is a local issue and what has turned out to be pretty much a fiasco .
Ask yourself this , why should I in Jersey be concerned about the rule of Law as opposed to you (living in the UK)   not being far more concerned about such matters in the UK, your back yard?
Cast the plank from your own eye before being concerned about the moat in mine.
You have again made allegations "I think the reason that all of this still matters, is that it is indicative of whether you live under the rule of law or not. I mean, if large investigations can just be hijacked by politicians and the Chief of Police illegally suspended, I would have thought that that was a matter of concern to anyone living on the island.

For the sake of the hard of hearing.............NO ONE IS ASKING YOU TO CONTRIBUTE EITHER !
Just what is your problem?

Sparty, I think you need a break from the Island, explore the beauty of France, Italy, the USA, anywhere, just give us all a break of your rhetoric. And btw maybe Rob has some interest in what is happening in his old neighbourhood, what is so wrong with that!

Spartacus, you are calm - so all that froth and bluster is just a rhetorical flourish that we are not to take seriously. Maybe when you are being serious you could mark it typologically or with some meta-tags like, <serious>this is me being hilariously witty for my blog mates</serious>.

Seriously though, why should I not be equally concerned about my government taking us into an illegal war in which hundreds of thousands of civilians and combatants have died? I would like to say that I resigned from the Labour party over it, but I'd already resigned over something else. But I did go on the protest marches against the war, I wrote to my MP, all my MEPs, and when the Labour party phoned me up and asked me to rejoin or vote for them, I replied, 'Not until all the people who lied to us to take us into an illegal war have completely left the government.'

What did you do about it? But, of course, you are not even allowed to have an opinion on it are you, because you live in Jersey.

I contribute because I want to, and so do a few others. I don't see why we should stop because you - who are so obviously not an idiot because you are a regular guy with loads of common sense and a blokey sense of humour - because you think it is a dead subject. In which case, just ignore us, unsubscribe, read another thread, or do something much more interesting like...

Hey! I just got back from my holidays in Mauritius !
Serious point here........if you were in charge of an asylum , and you saw some half credible geezer feeding on and to the paranoid delusional inmates would you ..
A) Encourage such interaction, as it may provide a long term benefit?
B) Call security?
C) Place said interloper in a straight jacket and lead him to the lobotomy centre?

Great film that "one who flew over the cukkoos nest"
I think we should do a remake , age of aquarius as the sadistic nurse, bb as the potty old geezer , dylan , the silent indian (Oh how I wish) ol razzzy as the mummys boy, rico as the goofy faced loon  and myself , have to think hard here ,i know! I could be napoleon!

Another understated classic from Chevvie ,Cantanno !PMSL!

Fan-bloody tastic, I'll ask Razzy to dust off his 8mm Tower triple lens T-185 Movie camera from his Porn Director days, (I think Ole Ron Jeremy's been buried long enough now), Rico can be the sound man, 1 because he is a sound man and 2 because I think he knows people with interviewing equipment, I'll gladly be the Indian, on two conditions, first of all I want to be the Chief and secondly I get to throw Sparty out of the window attached to a radiator?

Sounds like fun dunnit?

Going back to the subject of the Farce Blog, it is interesting how - having complained extensively of how other blogs retread old ground, they are doing exactly the same themselves with their latest posting.

There's nothing wrong with going over past ground - in fact, in yet another article I was reading in British Journalism Review (I've been enjoying perusing the last year), one writer notes that bloggers often pick up on news stories when the main media have dropped them, because newspapers etc, feed on today's news, and very rarely go back and review past stories - he notes that it is one of the weaknesses of the public media, one of the strengths of citizen media.

(Of course that means nwespapers, for example, often present completely contradictory stories to those they wrote in the past, which Private Eye's Street of Shame has great relish in pointing out)

And of course, sometimes a review can pick up matters that were not present at the time, in hindsight, which is why when, for example, police cases get bogged down, a fresh pair of eyes can be helpful.

But the Farce blog, having criticised Rico, and the Voice blogs, for revisiting old grounds, should at least have the good grace to stop doing it now if they are doing the same.
