The President of the States of Alderney has cast his casting vote after a tie , 5 in favour 5 against (I always though in the event of a tie the status quo should remain?)in favour of a ban in smoking in public places. He states,," I hope we made the right decision, we ,will only know in the future" well, good for him , good for Alderney ........why on earth would anyone want to go to this craphole in the first place?
Apart from a 9 hole golf course ,it has nothing , a drop off for lots of fisherman heading somewhere else , A very nice restaurant , a couple of hotels and ,,,,,,er,,,,,well that is actually it , ok , it does have offshore gambling lincenses , something Jersey might get to grips with 15 years too late , and it does have a lovely coast line, ( Best viewed from the golf course )
But seriously , a place you could go to and smoke and gamble and drink without being treated like a leper?? Wow , that you could advertise!
Alderney , sack your idiot President , he has just removed any valid excuse for Tourism. Still he will probably be at home sucking on his pipe and requesting the mamsahib to bring his slippers along with his nightly coco . It is quite apparent that our idiot neighbours are dumb as pig manure , but I suppose they learned their skills at our knees , God preserve us from politicians.
