I thought it would be helpful for anyone who's even Remotely interested to read it for themselves? There is something like 120MB of emails, documents very dodgy programming code.

The emails from the scientist (if they can be called that now) describe “how to hide the decline” (of temp) by the use of a ‘trick’. Also, how data >1960 cant be used because it doesn’t fit in with the desired result. If that’s not bad enough, threatening to delete data rather than release it under a Freedom of Information request.

The program code is hilarious and the developer who tried to make sense of also has some choice comments to make.

And that’s the tip of the iceberg (pun intended), I’ve no intention of typing in all 120MB. If you’re interested, read it. If your not then don’t bother.

And Gorgonzola to you too!
Mind you i have in fact been wondering about all of this "Climategate" It is apparent to all of us that the weather is not exactly consistent with our childhood memories and that could be down to the fact that distance lends enchantment , but it seems to me that their are new records being set on a weekly basis for warmest , wettest, coldest, most humid , driest ,on a weekly basis , then again , it appears that new records are being set everywhere in sport, in finance so perhaps weather should not be our biggest cause of concern.
The abilty to enjoy hotter , drier summers may be a set off to me against milder wetter winters , but on a global scale , the effects could be fairly horrendous. On the other hand will I care, on a personal basis? I live on top of  hill , could be a new shoreline , see where this is taking me?
I am not a dooms day scenearioist, I believe we have the abilty and the technology to cool the planet fairly rapidly if we so required , but just before doing that , I would like to be assured in a scientific manner(peer reviewed obviously) that we will not then enter a new ice age. It would only take one fairly huge eruption to assist man made cooling (By which i mean for example a very large space umbrella, The scattering of reflective material around the planet . or the killing of all non human mammals with their irritating breathing patterns , none of these projects are currently proposed but I am of course willing to sell the idea for a trip to Rio to examine the effects)
since i am obviously hovering between denial and acceptance of the great climate debate , and since no one thus far has offered me a fellowship, or even a tickle to persuade me into the right direction, and you know i mean serious money here , IAM WILLING TO BE PERSUADED!  I do hope i am not being too subtle?

Take a trip to Cheddar Gorge and read what it says at the top step.

My perception is that mankind, no matter how feckin seemingly mental cuckoo feckers we are as a race, has absolutely , "Diddly-squat", effect on the ,"Living planet", that we currently inhabit.

Party on, drive big fast cars.

ENJOY LIFE, YOUVE ONLY GOT ONE.

I too was looking forward to living closer to the beach, sadly though it doesn’t look like its going to happen anytime soon as the CRU’s own data shows its getting cooler -

“I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline”

Can’t help to persuade you one way or the other as I’m neither pro nor anti, a point a failed to convince my old nemesis Nick of.

Science has to be transparent and these guys clearly aren’t – it was always going to come out sooner or later.

Rio’s a good call though……………………

Cheers

I believe it is just the earth going through one of it's natural cycles that have happened in the past and will do again. There is a lot of money being made out of all this misinformation.

It's an extraordinary feeling, the realisation that you might finally have believed in a conspiracy.  Comforting that the one I believed in turns out to be possible - unlike the others.

20,400,000 google hits now. Phil Jones of CRU has stood down pending an enquiry. Micheal Mann (of dodgy hockey stick fame) under investigation Penn State university where he's on the faculty.

Austrailing Gov votes against carbon capping.

And here, Dep James Reed wants to show Al Gores blockbuster in jersey schools ::), this is the same blockbuster that when shown in the UK shools comes with a 70 page teaching guide pointing out the errors.

It all seems to be falling apart...................................................

Sorry, just spotted this from Nick in the GW thread.

"Sorry I haven't time at the mo to answer the points raised by posters above, I'll try and get back tomorrow but the vast majority of the "ideas" raised by the "it's not happening" or "it's nothing to do with us" posters above are unadulterated crap. They have been comprehensively shot down a million times already. The forces who are propagandising the public rely on the inertia of the internet and out of date books and articles where people constantly discover what they want to read because the idiots or liars or professional bullshitters never remove it. There are 100% solid scientific facts in this subject and, given a logical mind, it is possible to make definite statements that show an overwhelming case for strong action to reduce CO2 emissions"

I do like the "100% solid scientific fact" and the "pfofessional bullshitter" bits  ;D

Not looking too solid or professional now eh ?

Cheers

Now that is just malicious!
Just because a few scientists being paid to provide the "Correct " results apparently did so , does not mean there is not a huge problem out there!
Okthey may have falsified some evidence and done a few cover ups , that does,nt mean everyone being paid to provide the same results is doing the same thing!! You Should be ashamed of yourself Spooky for spreading such scurrilous rumours. I am 100% with nick that peer reviewed science is showing us the way forward. the fact that the "peer" reviewed Scientists are all in the back pocket of some Government agency and will be dismissed if they fail to produce the right figues is irrelevant to the fact that there is climate change happening , whether warming or cooling is irrelevant!
Some people just refuse to accept the facts.
I suppose you will be telling us there is no Santa Clause next, swine!!

The science musem in London has been running a poll. Basically its 'count me in' (to AGW) or 'count me out'. The results of this poll were supposed to be important enough to hand to MP's before Copehagen.

The poll has now closed and the results are :

In's        7532

Out's      8987

And the chances of the results being shown to MP's now is ........................?
