Jason the Maverick:
Remains of child found at former care home

"The remains of what appears to be a young child have been found in the former care home at Haut de la Garenne in Jersey.

Police on the historic abuse enquiry, much of which centres around the home, received information on Tuesday.

A search began and local officers were helped by a team of specialists from the UK which included a forensic anthropologist; an ecology and scene specialist, search advisers from the National Police Improvement Agency and a specialist sniffer dog.

Following indications from the dog and ground penetrating radar, the search was concentrated in a small area within the building.

At 9.30 this morningh (Saturday) what appears to be potential remains of a child were recovered".

This is starting to sound sinister.

danrok:
I Know someone who had to live in that place as a child, so I know what it was like. I'm shocked, but not at all surprised. Those kids were literally living in a house of horror.

BBC Radio 1 have been mentioning this in their brief news bulletin, so will probably be on the national TV news.

danrok:
It's on the main BBC UK news, as well:

Jason the Maverick:
So we have now moved from child abuse to murder?

Okay, we don't know the facts but this is starting to look like a heinous cover up.

danrok:
Cover-ups of this nature were common place, I'm sure.

Remember the current unsolved murder of a Swedish Au Pair? I feel that was carried out by someone well known in the community at the time, an otherwise respected person. The first police on the scene destroyed much evidence, apparently without realising it was a murder. I find that very hard to believe.
