I was recently told by my BCO (a very helpful team member) that Radon has the same effects as passive smoking.
Anyone know more??
The exact effects of passive smoking are not known for definite. You won't find a scrap of hard scientific evidence to show there is a connection between passive smoking and cancer.
But, it is obvious that there must be one, just because statistics strongly suggest there is a link. It would be foolish to think that second-hand smoke is harmless.
Same applies to Radon gas.
I can't see how it would be right to say "Radon has the same effects as passive smoking.", given that the exact effects, of either, on any given individual can't be known in advance. Some people are more resilient to cancer than others. Plus, there's a load of other factors, e.g. genetics, and general healthiness.
Both are very complex, and cant be summed up in a sentence or two.
