Stuart Syvret arrested
« on: April 06, 2009, 05:23:38 AM »
Is anybody totally surprised at this?

http://www.channelonline.tv/channelonline/

Jersey Senator Stuart Syvret has been arrested. Police picked him up at an address in Grouville at just after nine this morning.

He's currently in police custody while investigations continue.

He's helping them with their enquiries into alleged offences committed under the Data Protection Law.

It's believed he could face charges under article 55 - 'unlawfully obtaining documents and unlawfully disclosing them.'

About time the man is a threat to Justice with his constant interference in investigations and accusing people of crimes.

To be fair he has been begging for a stage to perform on, no doubt this will be it.
He will be able to rant away forever.

Sen Syvret knew there was a real threat of  being arrested.  He warned people who read his blog that it was likely.

I suppose that if you go around advertising that you have committed a crime , you might expect a call from the rozzers.
Still that amount of Police seems slightly disproportionate.

I see Advocate Sinel says there was no warning of the raid and arrest.

Of course not that is the whole point I cannot see drug dealers and terrorists being pre warned can you?

His computer is going to be subject to a lot of forensics and I can see a few others being charged as a trail will be able to be followed

Perhaps a senior Retired Policeman?

I suppose the accolytes will go to the links placed on the blog for further news.

Wouldn't a phone call asking him to attend the Police station been more appropriate and correct course of action.
If there searching his house would the search warrant have been signed by the AG the same person who doesn't believe it to be in the public interest to charge child abusers.

I'm surprised the Police didn't send an armed response unit as well. Don't forget, he did send a reply to the last email he received from the Police that stated "You'll never take me alive copper!" Maybe they took him at his word.

St. Stuart's soapbox just got a whole lot bigger. No matter what they find in his house or on his PC it will have been planted there by the puppets of the oligarchy and he will come one step closer to the martyrdom he is seeking.  Anyway, if he does get locked up I'm sure one of his informants will send him a cake with a confidential file in it.

Poor Stuart,  I doubt such heavy handed tactics are justified, I'm sure given Stuart's stance, he would have gladly responded positively to a request to meet the police.

Such a move by the police simply plays into his hands.  No doubt he has his baton ready to conduct the inevitable media circus which he will now try to manipulate and orchestrate.
