Suzy Hase using Free Members Parking at Sand Street
« on: November 22, 2008, 07:42:26 AM »
Has Suzy already been elected? I have seen her today parked on the basement/mobility area for private parking that is set aside for States Members.

As Suzy is someone who works for the Consumer Council and who cares about the people, maybe she should update her knowledge on the views of the public about this. Has she got special status to have free parking already?

What public view? the article is three years old and St Helier has had loads of Disabled on street parking made available since then and i am sure countless others have used the space without your knowledge?
It seems to me like you have an axe to grind against Ms Hase?

Your support of this candidate and loyalty is to be applauded....chauvinism is not dead.

The point is that the FREE parking is only provided for States Members in those allocated spaces.

Do you feel that we should all park in these designated spaces or just the select few and their favoured friends, to take advantage of the FREE parking.

Sounds like abuse of privilege if someone is using a position that is not entitled to them, and that was taken away from a group of people who needed those spaces most. Morallity comes into question here.

And using an excuse that more disabled driving spaces have been provided on the streets since then is a very thin argument, when you see the widespread abuse of disabled parking bays in St. Helier by people who use them "just for a few minutes" ???, is the argument when you point out to them that they are not allowed to park there without a blue badge.

An  abuse of privilege can only exist when someone has a privilege to abuse? Ms Hase isnt a States Member yet so there is no privilege there, she is another member of public. I have yet to see any other of your posts on here naming various members of the public who park in disabled places why is that?

Jaws, i understand the Disabled parking space issue has always been there and always will until a foolproof idea can be used to stop the abuse, for a start you could look at the provisioning of the badges, why do people have them who clearly don't need them? i have seen lots of people roll up in a
expensive car with a blue badge , park in the spots and jog off down the street? nothing to dibilitating there it would seem?

So i would put it to you that your arguement, about a member of the public who just happens to be standing for election for Deputy, parking on a states members bay that used to be a disability bay?? is somewhat paper thin?
If its a question of peoples morals parking on the bays then i wholeheartedly agree its wrong but to use this as an example to belittle a candidate for deputy is some what off?

By all means wait till thursday morning then approach the new deputy and ask them as there first act to look in to the abuse of the disabled bays that would, i am sure that would help a whole lot more?
Alternately you could ask Simon Crowcroft how he parks his Mercedes outside the Town Hall for free all day long, and usually on the Unloading bays?

That's funny Xenth, Mike Vibert has been spotted parking his blue BMW estate in a clearly marked disabled bay in Sand Street. However, he'll have to park with the rest of us now!  ;)

LOL.

Talking of which, can we have an 'education department' section on the States of Jersey departments site? I am sure you would get unbelievable posts on there as to what they are up to.

Yes please. I too have asked for this only this week. I did start a thread back on July but it seems to have vanished.

Star - email Mod 4 with your request and so will I. There's a lot of stuff I would like to write about the culture bit of ESC but fear it may be seen as a personal attack on Carolyn Labey (which it is not) if I were to post it on her thread.

There is a lot of work for Admin to do now the elections are finished in tidying up the main menu. He has PM me and intends to have a good sort out but is very busy at the moment.

If anyone wishes to add other states departments etc, like Property, and ES & C please PM him or E-mail.

Admin is in charge of the structure and changes on PJ, not the Mods

Thank you

Suzette Hase is an associate of Alan Breckon, who must qualify for a States Member's space, but always seems to walk everywhere. Perhaps he lets her borrow his space, which is less of a waste than leaving it empty?
