As I said if your a candidate and were polite I'd listen to what you have to say, I'd ask you a few questions to reaffirm my decision, then say goodbye.

If you were rude thats a different matter ;)

The modus operandi seems familiar ;) voters coerced by door to door visitors...are we talking about the Jehova Party?

Or do we have a common line in political ambition that will use whatever method available to influence voters and get votes they would struggle to achieve with sound rhetoric and policy?

The Number 2 Party is upon us :D

I used to invite Jehovas door knockers in.
I,d listen to everything they said whilst getting them to help with the housework.

As they left I would thank them for their assistance, explaining that the Priest was due round for tea and I,d never have managed without their help.

Not had them visit for ages.

I know of a man who was not religious but was very interested in the history of various religions. And he became extremely knowledgable on the subject
Not long after the war a Jehova knocked on his door and he had a conversation with him. He accepted a booklet from him and put it away somewhere. It stayed there for more than 20 years until a " new" Jehova turned up on his doorstep
Again he talked to the man who offered him another booklet. He then explained that he was extremely disappointed as,after 20 years, he was just about to convert to this religion and accepted as truth most of what was written in the "old" booklet which he then produced from its 20 yr hideaway. He said that just as he believed everyting in it the new man had come along with a book telling a different story and he picked out the many differences. The Jehova legged it and mumbled something about getting a superior to visit him. No one ever came...
