Pine,

I thought  in an earlier response, I said that all the chains were put back up to slow them down. I have now e-mailed the Parish Hall to get the Honoraries to look into it.

Dylan,

You missed your vocation. You should have been with Lenny Harper.  The amount of energy you dissipate into negativity takes my breath away.  Who mentioned me being Chair of anything ? I am a member of the St. Brelade Battle of Flowers Association and my wife omitted to pay my £5 or £10 .

Mike Jackson asked proposed me. I have not muscled my way into anything. In fact, it is the opposite.

Sean

Sean,
Why have you bought Lenny Harper into a thread about the railway walk? Are you comparing Dylan to Lenny in some kind of derogatory way?

No,

This referred to a much earlier part of this thread when Dylan (now Tinkerbelle) agreed to disagree.
You are taking that out of context as I removed part of the thread and asked Admin or the Moderators to intervene and they did.

Sean.

Do you think your stance on Lenny Haper will be a vote winner?

Hi Sean

You say that the levels of sporadic vandalism reduced after you called the public meeting last year. I have two questions for you:
1) Are you suggesting this is because of your meeting
2) You say this is only the minority who are offending so is the problem as bad as all that.

To DK,

I called that well-attended public meeting in October 2007. The JEP gave it the front page the next day.

In answer to your two points:

1:  I do think the meeting had a short positive effect;

2: I do still think it is a small minority;

I wish sometimes the Honoraries turned out in an old banger without uniforms and with the element of surprise. The Parish must have access to a few abandoned cars a month that are servicable.

I also wonder where and how the Community Police officers are deployed ?

To VFC,

I don't have a stance on Mr. Harper except to say I questioned his methods on the 29th April. I still hold those views. Whether it costs me votes or not, the question I asked, had to be asked.  We are elected to ask questions, make decisions and vote on difficult propositions.

I do not subscribe to the school of pleasing all of the people all of the time.  I speak according to my own views. That is why some of us are in the Chamber.

Sean. Could you please answer 2 straight forward question with 2 straight forward answers?

Question 1. Have Senator Syvret and Simon Bellwood been completely vindicated by THLPR report into greenfields and the Grand prix system.

Question 2. Are they owed a public apology by the States?

 Hi VFC,

Question 1. Have Senator Syvret and Simon Bellwood been completely vindicated by THLPR report into greenfields and the Grand prix system.

Yes. It looks as if there are issues in the whole issue of Social Services and the provision within that for child care. I think the HR department and Health cocked up on the way they handled Simon Belwood's removal.

Question 2. Are they owed a public apology by the States?  I want to see a top to bottom review of our Children's services. They may be owed an apology, yes.  I know that there are issues in Children's services. I know another States Department warned Social Services this summer about a particular case, the warning was ignored and the results were appalling.

Sean thanks for attemping the answers but you just fell at the last hurdle (question 2.) "They MAYBE owed an apology Yes". That doesn't quite answer the question and it really is a simple one. Are they owed an apology? YES or NO? "maybe yes", to me, means the same as "maybe no"

Hi VFC,

I want to read the HLFPR report. I believe copies are being made available.  If Stuart and Simon have been wronged, I do believe they should receive an apology.

Hi,

I have read the HLPR report. I am now convinced that some serious sorting out needs to be done at HSS. I thought Belwood sounded clear, articulate and well briefed this morning. I thought Jim Perchard's invervention last week, ill-conceived.

When I combine all of the above with another ongoing case that Social Services appear to have ignored when warned earlier this year, resulting in another appalling case, then I really wonder what is going on .
