I posted on here some time ago about Deputy Tadier and trying to be funny in the States Chamber and it was not doing him any good at all.
I will take my hat off to him with how he went about his speech yesterday on the Child abuse Enquiry proposition. He really was good but i still wish that he did not try to make these funny remarks that just do not come off. If he stayed with the serious side of himself he would be thought of in a much better light. I hope that he gets in again.
Chev, I listened to a bit of the states the other day when someone, I cant remember who as it really bores me to death, decided that their proposition or whatever had to be said in french. The stated reasons afterwards, something to do with the original law or whatnot being in french. Anyway, Tadier stood up (I assume as I listened on radio) and then spoke in french and although I am not a good french speaker I got the jist of it which was why on earth in this day and age is the previous speaker addressing the house in french. I have to be honest, I thought it was hilarious and I am so glad I happened to listen at that point as he, in my eye, basically pointed out what a pompous lot of old farts are in there.
I would point out he didnt say that, but thats what I took it to mean and even if it wasn't meant to be taken that way than I am more than pleased if I took it the wrong way because frankly a lot of pompous old farts is exactly what we have to put up with.
