According to Senator Syvret, Katy Ringsdore has already had a States of Jersey email account set-up!

I wouldn't call her 'entrepreneurial'. To my mind that term belongs to someone who starts with little or nothing and makes something of themselves through hard work, business acumen and taking some serious risks.

Not someone who's come from a privileged backround (before you say anything, there's nothing wrong with that in itself) and relied on that silver spoon to give them everything in life. The simple fact is, would she have had the life she's had and been where she is now if she'd been born to Mr & Mrs. Bloggs who were a bricklayer and worked in Woolies respectively?

No.

Um,  actually her mum did work in wooolies , when woolies had everything for sale at 6d or less , her dad was a packer for styrofoam balls in a packing styrofoam balls facility just before he got a job with the leather tanners at St Peters, god did that stink!
Silver spoon ?,,, that is actually quite funny!

It's a bit late in the game to be trying to come over all working-class friendly.

Fail.

What's laughable is you trying to imply she might have had some sort of working class, orange-and-a-lump-of-coal-in-the-Christmas-stocking type upbringing. Us plebs out here in voter land might not be up there with you and the rest of Walker's social elite, but we're not complete morons.

It's interesting to see how you're privy to such information about her family though, and you're obviously not exactly impartial either. Let me guess, either family or family friend yourself?

With a States of Jersey email address already set up for her, it's clear her establishment friends are already paving the way for her. Don't worry, as per usual us great smelly hordes of unwashed peasants won't even get a say in the matter.

She might have played a part in Oliver when she was at JCG.  That's as about as proletariat as she gets.

My working class roots are deep.
But as Ralph C Nesbitt would say "we might be in the gutter but we are looking at the stars"
A philosophy which some of you might aspire to instead of forever griping about how life gave you such a crappy break.

I also would like to know the reason why an email account has been opened for her, I have also stated that I believe she is too young for the job, I also do not believe that she will get in .
It is a shame the great unwashed masses cannot get off their collective arses to vote but that is hardly my fault!
My background as I have previously stated is from the working classes , 1 of six children, add parents and lodgers, living in a 4 bedroomed dump in town .Hardly the social elite !
Most of my brothers and sisters have done very well for themselves so a working class background is not a deterrent to achievement. An entrenched attitude of them and us,a failure to applaud success and a general attitude of give me give me give me , is what keeps most of the smelly hordes( your words not mine, I was once smellier than most) from actually getting anywhere in life.
I remember working as a labourer on a building site and listening to people whine about how much the dockers got paid , I thought , why are they whining ? why do they want the dockers to get less money instead of wanting to achieve more money for themselves? I guess its because they really are a bunch of hopeless, gutless, pathetic , whiny bunch of scroungers who would rather wait for the next states hand out than get off their backsides and do something for themselves.
Orange AND Coal in your sock for xmas ,, you lucky b*****d.

Having reviewed St Stuart of the Downtrodden Masses web site it appears that he has imparted (shock horror) a little spin on the matter of the alleged email address created for ms Ringsdore

I was surprised to read what you said about Ringsdore having "her very own States email address entry". So I had a look. And actually, Stuart, what you've written is a bit misleading.

She doesn't have a gov.je address at all from what I can see. Her channel103 mail address is merely saved in the States system under her name "katyringsdore". Does she even work there anymore? Its probably now out of date as a contact address!

Now I'm not saying that something can't be drawn from this bit of trivia, as people with whom States departments correspond regularly often have their outside addresses saved in the system. I'm sure you'll be able to confirm that, Senator. But its a long way from saying she's been given her own states email address entry!

St S of the Dms replied

"Katy - Victoria Sponge - Ringsdore's Inclusion in the States e-mail Address System.

Perhaps I didn't make my concerns clear enough, I'll concede.

The point I was trying to make - and I thought the fact the none of our other giants of the Fourth Estate have their external e-mail addresses included, showed this plainly - is that her e-mail address is included in the States of Jersey e-mail address book."

He then goes on the usual rant that she is the running dog of capitalist class traitors .
You can read the rest yourselves .
It really is quite pathetic that he should resort to spin , whatever happened to evidence, political debate, or even common sense .
Judge not less ye be judged as a spinner.

Isn't Katy worth giving a chance? At least she has put her name forward and isn't frightened to be counted?

There have been surely others who have become elected who must be far worse?

John.

Probably.  Just not in politics.
