A notice of amnesty was posted on the forum towards the end of last week.
I accept that certain individuals may have duplicate IP addresses as they may share a common router or PC with other forum members. I have asked those who are aware of this to email me with their details, to date I have received 1 email.
Mod-1 disagreed with my approach, however from the forum records he shared a common IP address with one of the culprits so I can therefore understand why he took the stance he did. It is also a forum rule that there should be no duplication of accounts. He wouldn’t accept that moderators should follow the rules that they are imposing and set an example.
As I have said above I am aware of certain duplications and accept that in some cases this will be down to the sharing of equipment. However it is too much of a coincidence that the same certain forum members log on within several minutes of each other, from exactly the same IP addresses (even though those addresses may be different to the last one used) on a regular basis. Yes this may happen in a work situation, but from 3 to 4 different IP addresses and at times quite late into the evening somehow I doubt this.
So I’ll ask again, if you are aware of other individuals within your organisation or home that log onto this forum drop me an email and I will ensure that I take account of this.
Mod-1’s other argument was that the forum was pandering to the observation and comments posted on “other” forums. Even though he had regularly noted on this forum he was not interested in what other forums had to say.
