"An emergency room for the parish of St Helier to operate from in case of a disaster is being set up.
At a cost to parishioners of £60,000, the office will be used in case of a major fire, explosion or even IT meltdown.
Town Constable Simon Crowcroft has approved plans to build the business continuity suite, which will be located on the first floor of offices in Nelson Street – the original town fire station – and will be funded by parish rates specifically set aside for such a project".
An IT meltdown? are they having a laugh?
