Saucy Sarah

I’m afraid you comments are entering the realm of the embarrassing now.

“A full-time Senator running the investigation”?  Sorry – but I have never - in any way  - been “running the investigation”.

The police would not even countenance a politician being directly involved with – let alone running – a serious investigation.

Politics and the law should indeed be kept separate. At all stages throughout this saga all I have done is act as would any supportive, law-abiding citizen who happened to be in a position to help the police advance their enquiry.

I think you get attacked because you, and others who share your views, assert that my “actions have been over the top”. A position which is palpably absurd.

I’ll tell you what’s been “over the top”. Covering up the most appaling child abuses for decade after decade after decade; that’s “over the top”. The extraordinary degrees of malfeasance and incompetence we’ve seen on the part of Jersey’s civil service – that’s “over the top”.

The mind-boggling errors of judgement we’ve seen on the part of most of our politicians – that’s “over the top”.

I think the most tragically absurd thing you say is that “we all care about the plight of the victims”.

As if anyone would say they didn’t care about the plight of the victims? It’s one of those ‘politician’s’ answers. ‘Who doesn’t agree with lower taxes?’ Who doesn’t believe in protecting the environment? ‘Who doesn’t believe in motherhood and apple-pie?’

I’m sorry – but talk is cheap. You could line up all 53 States members and ask them whether they care about the plight of the survivors. All 53 would, of course say ‘yes’.

Talk is cheap – it is actions we must judge people upon - politician in particular.

Mere words just aren’t good enough.

Stuart.

You are being stupid now.  Why do people who think Stuart Syvret's behavior has been over the top get attacked like this?

We all care about the plight of the victims and nobody has denied this, but why do we need a full time Senator running the investigation?  You people are saying yourselves that politics and the law should be kept separated.

"We all care"?  Have you appointed yourself as spokesperson for everyone?

Can I just point out that you represent no-one here, but yourself, and who are "You people"?  If I am included in this unspecified group, perhaps you could link to where I have said that politics and the law should be "kept separated".  Obviously, the two are interconnected, and always will be.

This is brilliant.  People are saying that some candidate elects are getting are hard time but this also seems to go for members of the public!  Nobody escapes on here!

Well done for posting the Sean Power article. Many had heard about it and like me had not seen it in the flesh, thanks to you and the internet..The truth is up there on a great big world wide billboard.

May I talk about those up for election, I like facts, even the super brains, cannot dispute a fact. On PJ every person up for election has been invited to showcase and debate with you and I. Therefore they hit a big audience and we get to know the deeper thoughts and aspirations of the candidate.

If your honest and committed in your views why not communicate. I may be a monkey brain Alvin, but I respect those that get in the political ring. No No says, Ozouf, Routier, Vibert, and others, to important to chat with us. I have my own site come to me !! They must have been in the big house to long. We employ you, not the other way around.

The Very very silly Sarah Ferguson, ( surrounding herself with good people ) is probably the most feared states member, by the establishment party. She keeps ripping them apart with an awesome grip on the waste and poor systems that breed contempt in a large organisation that is the States.

I guess she has been sitting for to many hours grilling the stupid, the overpaid, over important spivs, the.......... can you repeat the question. people in the ivory tower to realize that she is in a parallel universe with islanders, who hate the two tier society that is emerging and need to feel real confidence that the decision makers are looking after tax payers money as we have to look after our own in the trying times.

Stuart was right, and there is no excuse as a politician to get involved in a judicial matters and try and exercise a change. Except just one little small issue. This is difficult for me. However it does seem that the general confidence, maybe due to bad press, maybe due to letting off two candidates for a court appearance, or even our own policeman Lenny Harper, has been lost in the higher level justice system of Jersey. It is not unrealistic to think that maybe some States members are not as accepting of our legal system as others, but should do nothing about it. ( By Law )
