Sarah
I have thought of a way to reduce outgoings for the SoJ.

Look in tonights JEP at the adverts for staff as advertised by the SoJ.............practically a double page spread and also separate adverts  - these could be condensed and hundreds of pounds saved annually.

I have been looking for work for ages so am aware that the States are always advertising for staff - it is time they reduced the size of their adverts and therefore the cost.

Perhaps you could direct this thought to the relative department and come back and tell us bloggers what the advertsing budget is for situations vacant and how much could be saved!

Its just part of the Jersey way, spend it why you have it, advertising is small pennies to them, it is just so easy to spend money you have not earned ie  belongs to someone else, the taxpayer.

But on a positive note, I have no problems with the front line workers its the layer upon layer of managers, who are aware, they would never earn get the money they do in the real world, or the pensions.

This is simple called a two tier society, caused mainly by bad Government.

The next election will see massive changes, Jersey will wake up once your money is removed by increases in taxes ( and less benefits we can´t afford it ) to pay the  for the army of the expensive unseen battalions of de management´.

Apoligies for quoting this way but dont know any other "There will be no more share transfer flats, flying freehold only.  This is especially important as there are 400 apartments planned for the Esplanade quarter.  I had actually told T Le M in the spring how to do it but I had to go and see the Population Office to tell them how to investigate it!  I can't get the information on Castle Quay yet but I will."

I apolgies again in advance if i have got this completely wrong but the way i read the latest news on share transfer is that share transfer buyers will pay stamp duty, not that share transfer is out of the window. So in my mind that means that anyone from abroad can still buy them without living in them so apart from the tax issue it seems that the point of rich people buying plenty of properties has been pushed asside with regards to leaving available property for locals to buy.

Would love to hear that i have got that completely wrong.

And, before i hit post and not to be to controversial but does it make any difference if you know the right people?!

I have always like Sarah Ferguson.  Really analytical and knowledgeable.  Can go on a bit sometimes but has her head screwed on tighter than many of the other states members.  She also has a calmness about here, I wouldn’t want to get into an argument with her though.  :P

Sarah Ferguson always got my vote. She is an honest Politician and yes you are right, she HAS her head screwed on correctly.
I genuinely forsee her going on to better things in Politics. Whilst she avoids confrontation which is unnecessary, she will have a go at any situation which is unfair. Keep it up Sarah, we're with you.
