I get the impression that most thinking people using this forum are actually very unhappy with the States pretending to be a good Government. Let's change that to bloody angry. It also seems to me that should people really want change in our Government as I do, then it means getting in new blood. It's not complicated, nor will it be easy. There are indeed some good States members. The list is NOT a long one though.

This is of course my personal opinion but constructive questioning of those wishing to stand would be helpful. Some names keep appearing and contrive to disrupt, some to aim personal abusive comments, all cleverly just within Planetjersey rules. This is not the way forward, maybe for you, but not for the main stream of posters. These are my thoughts it is not a lecture, but I do have my own question, how can we accuse this Government of NOT listening, if we ourselves do not ?

Very wecome Alvin, I am a little confused, is it Alvin or Churchill ?

Should i stand and be elected one of my aims would be to meet ,with the few decent members in the states ,who don't have their own agendas and persuade them, that together we can make a strong stand in defence of common sense politics.
Put an end to behind closed doors deals. End corruption that i believe is rampant within the system.

The future must be open . smaller , accountable.

Well you have a better approach than some people.

I have already spoken about Lone Rangers and their ability to make any changes.  So I think it is better to be a team player.

Can anybody tell me why jersey elections are so dam boring.

The Americans go a bit over the top but hey, we could have some marching bands some events put on by candidates to liven up procedures.

Anybody agree ?

May be the general public would wake up if the drums were banging hard enough .

I am forming an  active group that will ask questions and demand changes in our care system here in jersey for the elderly and the sick.

Changes well overdue as far as im concerned into procedures staff use in care facilities purely to make life easier for themselves with little thought for the dignity and well being of the patients.

I have been discussing what goes on behind closed doors with nursing staff that are alarmed and ashamed of what they have witnessed in our care homes and hospitals.

Controversial issue yes. But one that needs addressing and that im not afraid to take on for the sake of those suffering at the hands of abusers .
Its my mission to make absolutely sure that those that abuse our elderly and sick are rooted out and that procedures currently in practise to make things easy for staff are stopped.

Please join me .Lets make a difference to those who need our help now.

Absolutely, Alvin, I am all with you there! I have heard similar stories ! That is why I kept saying that Haut de la Garenne was only a catalyst, but we really want to see changes so that victims of ANY abuse get support, and perpetrators get convicted. Yet again, we see cover-up stories here - for whatever reason!

I really cannot believe how many people in Jersey are still that gullible that they do not believe in these cover-ups. I heard many of these stories LONG before I got involved with Time4Change; I wasn't even digging. But I heard so many similar stories from different angles that - when Time4Change did start - I made up my mind that things like that DID happen, that Jersey was NOT democratic, that change at various levels were long overdue - and THAT is why I wanted to help found Time4Change.

Any progress with the group Alvin? I think Dylan asked a few days ago but I lost the thread.

Yes im meeting with various people at the moment . I hope to arrange a meeting at the art center before the end of the year, to basically formally announce the group as an active movement to change the way we think and care for the elderly and the sick here in jersey.
Thanks for your interest.
Alvin.
