Voters with a social conscience that didn't attend the St. Helier hustings will be pleased to learn that the boy Ozouf got slated tonight. Sure the machine gun invective was always present but he cut an increasingly sad figure as the mood of the people swung against him. He reminded me of a one of those people at a party that, come the end of the night, are left standing on their own looking into the fish tank wondering why nobody likes them.

I've said before that I think he'll scrape in but having witnessed the mood tonight I think we are going to see him back next month creeping round us good people of St. Helier looking for votes in the Deputies. Monfort Tadier raised the biggest laugh of the night when he said that from now on Ozouf should start getting used to being called Mr. Ozouf and not Senator. OK so it wasn't like being at Jongleurs but it captured the atmosphere perfectly.

Did anyone else notice that his 4 page glossy election pamphlet makes no mention of the waterfront?

The waterfront and the sunken road: an ugly, disruptive, risky, investment in a mini-Canary Wharf that no banks will now want to finance, and that islanders don't want.

Yet Phil - chief minister in waiting - ignores it.

He also states about the insanerator: "no suitable alternatives were found". Yeah, only because Guy De Faye and his blinkered self-interested gang at TTS weren't looking!

Well the waterfront certainly came up for discussion earlier.

There were howls of derision aimed at Ozouf tonight as one of Rico Sorda's mates, who were all on good form I might add, mentioned the Carbuncle Cup.

Ozouf was shaking his head pretending it had nothing to do him and just hoping the ground would open up and swallow him.

Very, very funny.

Great news that he took a slating - his glossy brochure is not recyclable even though it is rubbish.

Accordingto Mr Ozouf............ 'we are in a better position that most to weather the storm, it is vital that responsible policies are pursued to maintain our standard of living'.....................

Try teling that to a meeting of AGE CONCERN Mr Ozouf, as the majority would rather better their standard of living, as would a lot of middle Jersey.

The landed gentry may wish to maintain their standard of living and with so many of them in the States they ensure that 'responsible policies' do just that ..........whilst the elderly and less fortunate grapple with means tested benefits.

The welfare system that this deplorable government have introduced will change the face of Jersey and hits at the very core of our culture, we are now a high tax island busily creating a two tier society.

VOTE OUT the establishment they have lost the hearts and minds of the people

Was it Monty who last night suggested taxing overlarge election posters?

Nice one.

I just hope the 'Carbuncle Kid' has the decency to remove his litter on Thursday morning - some of the hardboard must be recyclable?

Mr Ozouf you are an absolute joke!!!

After reading the leaflet from the JEP last night I could not believe my eyes when reading how because he is the youngest member of the states the younger people go to him.  What a load of rubbish.

When at the St Saviour hustings he walked right past me, as if i didn't exist, looking at me right down his pointy little nose, i'm one of these young people that MR OZOUF apparently cares so much about.

If anyone has any sense they would know not to vote for his scheming little lies.  We all know that he is terry le sueurs puppet master so technically if Mr Le Sueur is to be CM that would actually mean Ozouf is going to be CM - oh god if he gets back in we are in for a very very rocky ride!!!!

Ozouf only pays attention to people who can do something for him.  I have seen him at parties and functions and unless you are in a position of influence or power he will simply ignore you.

I dare say that tomorrow he will  be sucking up to absolutely everyone.

I would steer clear of him at a party  ;)
