What on Earth is going on with this forum? en830, it is definitely time that you stood down as a global moderator on this site, your prejudices are starting to show!
So far you have stamped on any postings that YOU deem to be personal attacks, whether they be lighthearted or serious. This is fair enough if it is applied fairly across the board but what causes me to question your impartiality is your apparent willingness to allow Stuart Syvret total freedom to pursue his own personal attacks against other people without your intervention or comment.
I don't know Nick le Cornu and I don't particularly care what he has to say about Syvret or vice versa. What I do object to is this forum being hijacked by the likes of Stuart Syvret (who apparently is also a "moderator") and any dissenting voices being silenced by en830 if they don't agree with his own political views. This is not moderation it is censorship in its worst form!
The purpose of a forum such as this is to allow freedom of expression and opinion! Unless postings are defamatory or offensive they should be alowed to be viewed. If en830 wants to participate in the debate, fair enough, if he wants to moderate, so be it, but he or she should choose one or other of the options and, in the latter case, demonstrate impartiality. As the matter currently stands, we appear to have a person with strong political views controlling what is said on this forum and who can say it. Such a situation is not in the spirit of this forum and is in danger of destroying its credibility as a vehicle for free speach.

No, merely stating an opinion which is what this is supposed to be about!

Do you consider yourself to be in charge perhaps?

I think all Senators are moderators of there own section and since Senator Syvret is the only one who's bothered to come on the forum that's why it shows up.

Newmac is partly right, in case a none supporter posted obscene or liable comments before a Mod could intervene, then all candidates can moderate posts themselves.

Should a honest post be removed this should be referred to a Mod as a complaint and will be dealt with.

There are other sites that do not offer a chance to air your views and have questions answered by candidates or others. Personal attacks, claims of corruption or other such items without proof,  racism etc are not welcome on planet jersey and will be dealt with.

The thread was locked, however Stuart chose to use his moderator rights to answer the accusations previously made. Sadly this was after I had retired for the night (I don't spend every hour watching over this forum) and I was only able to address this briefly when I logged on this morning. I have now cleaned up the thread removing all of the offending posts, again ! and returned it to the forum.

All politicians who wish to contribute to the forum have been accorded moderator rights for their particular area as have all candidates. Ironically one such candidate asked me to remove his rights at the hustings on Friday.

As I have said else where, if the moderators don't stamp on something we get slated for being too soft, if we do then we are slated for being heavy handed. Which would you prefer, a return to the forum whereby if a moderator disagreed with your particular opinion you were banned, or the forum as it is at the moment where views from any particular political view point are tolerated and encouraged.

I think it says load for this forum that the following have chosen to register and in many case engage in political debate with the members.

Ian Le Marquand
Sarah Ferguson
Stuart Syvret
Sean Power
Nick Palmer
Michael Pashley
Mark Forskitt; and
Monfort Tadier

Correct me if I am wrong. But hasn,t S.S. been allowed to call other candidates, "nazis", etc?
Or did I read that on his blog? (Cant, remember if I read it on here or on his own blog).

Fritz - SS has called everybody a nazi a some point on every damn website that will let him. Most notably Cohen for his inability to think outside the ministerial box.

En830 - Who asks for their rights to be removed?  ??? That's nuts.

Absolutely agree. Regardless of the up and downs, I appreciate these people coming on here. The majority of candidates won't.

The only one I haven't seen post is Montfort. Monty, where are you? If elected, you will have to engage in discourse with people who are diametrically opposed to you. Why not start now? (Not that I am opposed to Monty, but some might be)

Er Danrock I think the pubspeak you are talking about is "er you looking at my bird - you want some trouble?" as what you have suggested is a bit more like pimping - like your style though,
